River crossing feast

In the Greek mythology the bridge is a dangerous object. The Lete River separates life from death. During WWII Wisła river separated the devastation of Warsaw by the German Army from the Soviet Army which did nothing but watch. The 20th century – the century of civilization. Devastation of the city that had been developing through ages lasted 2 months… unconceivable scale. We should learn to look at the most difficult moments in our own history in order to gain the respect of those who were wounded.

The „Bridges on the River” Foundation was conceived in order to give this Polish-German dialogue an European scale. Both interweaving projects – implemented in Warsaw and in Berlin – are made possible due to the patronages of the city of Warsaw and city of Berlin, the partnerships of both Presidents and support of the institutions responsible for new cultural relationship between these two countries. A large contribution comes from entrepreneurships, institutions and city councils in Poland and Berlin. Being convinced to the idea of “The Virtual Bridge over the Wisła River” they decided to finance the projects making them happen.
