at the 513th kilometre - Jacek B±kowski
publication date: 2010-05-21
author: Jacek B±kowski
I wish to take possession of a small area at the righ side of the Vistula at its 513,5 kilometre. I will quite often try to be present there this summer. I will stand up, sit down, look at the water, look around and behind me. I will smile to people who pass. I will talk to them. I will speak and listen. I will ask. I will answer the questions.
On 19 June at 7 p.m. I will reply to the question if bees sting everyone and if someone bearing the name B±kowski can count on some privileges from their part.
On Friday 25 June at 6.30 p.m. I will talk about a Workshop of Potential Literature /Ou Li Po/ and I will tell a story about what I like reading in exchange of stories about your literary fascinations.
On Saturday 3 July at 6 p.m. I will share a home-made strawberry jam with those who will wish to try it and I will live with hope that there is such a person that will tell me how to make green walnuts in sirup.
On Friday 23 July at 6 p.m. I will try to play the harmonica, even though I cannot play it, but maybe someone will teach me a bit.
On Thursday 12 August in the afternoon /e.g. at 4.30 p.m./, I will remember and repeat what I said on the subject “ What I would like to save from remembering”.
On Thursday 26 August at 7 p.m. I would read with pleasure the entire article or just excerpts from it, entitled “About the limits”, included in the book by Barbara Skarga called “The human being is not a beautiful animal”.
On Saturday 1 September, from 6 p.m. I will remain silent about politics for the entire hour, to show my disagreement with the lack of a kind interest of politicians in the fate of ordinary people, with keeping up appearences of this interest by the former and in fact caring about mainly their own interests.
I will need a chair and a table to all my deeds, as well as a few deck chairs for those who would like to listen, talk or speak. A big beach umbrella will certainly be useful as well.
